FAQs

  1. Am I eligible for an On-Arrival Visa?
Indonesian visas require one entirely blank passport page. Travelers without a blank visa page in their passport may be denied entry. For details on Visas-on-Arrival and other visa information please visit the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia website. ASEAN nations and a few other countries DO NOT require a visa. See the list of countries.
  2. How much does the On-Arrival Visa cost?
For guests eligible for on-arrival visa, the Indonesian Immigration charges US$25/person to be paid in cash for a 30-day visa. Indonesian visas require one entirely blank passport page. Travelers without a blank visa page in their passport may be denied entry. Additionally, please ensure that all passports have more than 6 months of validity past the date of entry into Indonesia as that is other grounds for denied entry.
  3. Will I have to navigate Batam on my own?
No! Once you clear immigration, one of our staff will be waiting to ensure your safe transfer from Sekupang to Telunas.
  4. What is included in the standard rate?
The rates for the Private Chalets and Deluxe Rooms are for double occupancy, including meals (3 x a day). The rate for the Multi-Family Suite is for 6 people including meals (3 x a day). Dorm room pricing is a nightly rate per person including meals (3 x a day). Please note that bookings have to be made at least 48 hours (2 days) prior to your desired travel date. Advance booking can be made up to 6 (six) month prior to the trip.
  5. Are there mosquitoes and other insects in the rooms?
Due to the how the rooms are built over the water, mosquitoes and other insects are rarely seen in the rooms and around the establishment.
  6. What is the weather like at Telunas Beach?
Just one degree from the equator, Telunas Beach is a tropical environment. While we don’t have the typical dry and rainy seasons, it is generally warm and a bit humid with the chance that some showers could visit us any day. The unique structure of the facilities over the water allows for a natural cooling effect. The seasons are broken down into four: North Wind, South Wind, West Wind and East Wind.
    • North Wind: (Jan-Mar) Usually the days are clear, but warmer because there is less wind. Because of this, the water is the clearest during this season.
    • East Wind: (Mar-Jun) There tends to be a breeze and clear water.
    • South Wind: (Jun-Aug) It is rainier and constantly windy, which brings bigger waves. The water tends to be murky, but at times the water is clear.
    • West Wind: (Sept-Jan) This season occasionally brings strong winds, clear water and rain.
  7. Do you allow one night stays?
We have implemented a two-night minimum stay policy in order to ensure our guests have the best Telunas experience possible. Considering the location of Telunas and transit required, we have found that one night is simply too short a visit. Our guests repeatedly tell us that one night is not quite long enough. They indicate that a 2-4 night stay is ideal, some lingering as long as a week. A minimum two-night stay will also allow you to get the most time out of the money that you will spend. We only have one local ferry that runs one time a day near our island (S$25+ per pax/each way). It leaves Batam at 12:30pm and if planning on taking it back to Batam from Telunas, you would need to be ready to leave around 8:00am the next day. Another option is renting our Malay-style boat for S$210+ one way (not per person) that would leave at your convenience, but again it costs more. You can easily combine the two options by taking the ferry one way and renting our boat the other. (The travel time to and from Telunas is approximately 1hr 45min.)
  8. How do I book my ferry tickets from Singapore to Sekupang, Batam?
Please refer to the following ferry providers to book your tickets:
    • Penguin: www.penguin.com.sg
    • Batam Fast: www.batamfast.com/index.aspx
Please remember to send us a confirmation of your ferry booking to Sekupang.
  9. I cannot reserve my return ticket back to Singapore, what should I do?
Upon your arrival in Sekupang Ferry Terminal, your host will assist you to reserve your seats going back to Singapore.
  10. How long does it take from Sekupang, Batam to Telunas Beach?
It takes about 1.5 hours boat ride to reach Telunas Beach from Sekupang Ferry Terminal.
  11. How far in advance should I book my ferry to Sekupang, Batam?
Guests traveling on holiday weekends should make ferry reservations immediately. Other guests should contact the ferry operator 2 weeks before your arrival.
  12. What methods of payment are accepted at Telunas Beach?
We recommend our guests to settle their payment in cash (Singapore Dollars or Indonesian Rupiahs). Guests are welcome to settle payment using credit cards, but we do not recommend this method for charges over S$500 (This is to avoid the large bank charges). Singapore cheques are accepted with cashing fee of S$20. Larger groups may also use wire or bank transfer.
  13. Do I need to send the deposit in advance to confirm my reservation?
Because of the prohibitive cost of bank transfers, you do not currently need to make a deposit to secure your reservation. Please do be mindful, though, that we are a small resort and late cancellations adversely affect the viability of our resort.
  14. What is your cancellation policy?
If you would like to make any changes to or cancel your trip, we would appreciate advance notice. We would love to accommodate and work out the trip schedule for you. Changes within 48 hours of arrival require a call to your pre-assigned host.
  15. What currency do you accept to settle the payment and/or to pay the canteen?
We prefer for all the bills to be settled using Singapore Dollars; however, we also accept Indonesian Rupiahs.
