School Groups
Students and teachers alike fall in love with the natural surroundings and activities at Telunas Beach. Whether it’s a structured outdoor education program, community development project, or a tailor made adventure course, there is always something new to learn and experience. Parents and staff will take heart that groups routinely comment on the exceptional quality of our food. Surrounded by jungle and ocean, students find little to keep them from having a fun time together and fully engaging in group activities. If you don’t find a program that fits exactly what you’re looking for, contact us so that we can design a trip to fit your group.
Located in the heart of the Riau Melayu (Malay) islands, Telunas provides a fantastic jumping off point for cultural learning. Groups from the city can rewind and allow students a chance to see how life used to be in cities like Singapore and still is for much of the world. From a short visit to a village to a 2-3 night village home-stay, we are experts in facilitating a cultural learning experience. Our trained guides stay with each small group of students as they experience life through the eyes of the Melayu. Eat with your hands while hearing stories from local villagers. Join in games of sepak takraw or soccer. Fish or cook with your home-stay family.
Get out of the classroom and learn! Classroom Without Walls (CWW) or Experiential Learning Courses (ELC) can be custom designed to fit your program’s goals and objectives. We work with your school leadership to facilitate a fun and enriching trip. We have the ability to combine aspects of cultural immersion, jungle trekking/camping, team building, community development and much more into both short weekend courses or longer 7-10 day courses.
Encourage your students to step out of their comfortable environment and serve others! Telunas has a history and reputation of facilitating community development projects in surrounding villages. Multiple Melayu villages are just a short boat ride away. Based on your budget, Telunas works with leaders in local villages to identify projects that are felt needs of the community and that fit your group. Past projects have included a broad range of activities from paving volleyball courts and digging wells to conversational English.
Towering jungle, sandy beach, rich culture, and service opportunities draw many schools to 5+ day program at Telunas. Students are challenged and stretched in the midst of a week of mind-blowing fun. Paradigms shift and friendships are deepened. Our adventure camps generally involve some of the following elements: cultural immersion, jungle trekking/camping, team building, community development, high jumping, Telunas games, and more. Our trips are adapted to suite age and ability level of our students.
